Dubai Gem is proud to have such hard working students.
Champions of Champions
Two athletes stood out for Dubai Gem: Pranav Heryani and Farhan Ahmed, both from Grade 9.
Pranav participated in the 'Seniors' category and won three medals. He won a gold medal in the 800 meters race, a silver medal in the 400 meters race and a bronze medal in the 100 meter race.
Farhan on the other hand participated in the 'Inters' category and won three gold medals in the 100, 200 and 400 meter races. Moreover, Farhan also finished fourth place in the Long Jump event. Having amassed 33 points, the highest in his category, he was awarded the individual champion trophy for the 'Inters' category.
Both of these guys have been dutifully training everyday since the start of school and it looks like all that hard work finally paid off.
A few other athletes from Dubai Gem were brilliant but rather unfortunate to not win a medal. Ahmed Hafidh, from Grade 11, took part in the 300 meter race and ended up in the 6th position. Another performer who did exceedingly well was Abu Bakar Ibragimov from Grade 11. Having participated in the 'Super Seniors' category, which is the toughest in the whole meet, Abu Bakar finished 5th in the 100 meters race and 6th in the Discus Throw.
This year's performance in the athletic meet was one of the best the school has ever produced and we hope that Dubai Gem's students can continue to better their performances year by year.
