On the 21st of December right after the senior schools exams had ended, the annual Alumni Football match for the boys was held. This year’s Ex- Dubai Gem team comprised of frighteningly powerful opponents including Ali Abdul Rehman, a ridiculously fast attacker, as well Yashasvi Zaveri, who was the best goalie Dubai Gem had ever seen. Still our current team remained confident and unmoved.
The first half of the match saw our crowd support dwindle as due to an unlucky turn of events the Dubai Gem Team conceded two goals. During the second half we saw our rejuvenated team try their best to break through the seemingly unbreakable Alumni defense. Finally after much hardship, which involved conceding another goal, the team broke through and managed to score against the other team. That final goal gave a signal for the match to end and despite losing the team showed good sportsmanship and even posed with the opponents for a group photo.
Once again the rolling trophy went to the alumni team but there is always next year to make a change.
